Boyce Simpson, 86, Green County, KY (1938-2024)

Boyce Simpson of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Ogden and Margarette Wooldridge Simpson was born on February 12, 1938 in Green County, Kentucky. He departed this life on Saturday, March 23, 2024 having attained the age of 86 years, one month and 11 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Greensburg Baptist Church. He retired from Ingersoll Rand, was an avid fisherman and a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM. He truly loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.


He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Judy Curry Simpson, having united in marriage on June 17, 1960.

Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Carol and Barry Marr of Bowling Green and Kristy and Todd Davis of Grab; five grandchildren: B.J. and Traci Marr, Derek Marr, Jessica and A.J. Wayne, Slade Davis and Clay Davis; seven great-grandchildren: Addison Marr, Lucas Marr, Max Marr, Dash Marr, Rip Marr, Cade Wayne and Briggs Wayne; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Bernice James, and Joyce and Leroy Patterson all of Greensburg; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sarah Curry of Louisville, James and Rita Curry of Greensburg, Lucretia Simpson of Campbellsville and Larry Curry of Tennessee; plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Stanley Simpson and Dennis Simpson.

The funeral services will be conducted at 11amCT, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery with Barry Marr, Bro. Todd Davis and Bro. Todd Young officiating.

Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to Gideon Bibles or the Greensburg Baptist Church Youth Center, which can be made at the funeral home.
