LIHEAP program can provide Warmth for winter Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) starts Tuesday, JANUARY 9 - MARCH 31, 2024. If you're a Kentucky household who is responsible for your home's heating cost, you might be eligible for LIHEAP assistance. Apply through your Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency (LC-CAA), a local organization with the mission of reducing poverty through locally designed and delivered programs and services, targeted to the specific needs of the community. What you need to bring when you apply: 1. Proof of Social Security Number or Permanent Residence card (Green Card) for each member of the household. 2. Proof of all household's members income from the prior month. 3. Current heating bill, or statement from your landlord if they are included in your rent, or statement from utility company if you participate in a Pre-Pay. 4. The account number and name on the account for main heating fuel sources and electric bill. Assistance during previous LIHEAP components does not effect eligibility. Programs are open to all income eligible households This story was posted on 2024-01-08 20:07:25
