Knifley's Giles cabin is a famous landmark One of Adair County's most picturesque fall traditions returned on the first Saturday in October when the annual Janice Holt and Henry Giles Arts and Crafts Festival welcomed visitors to the historic Giles Cabin. Proceeds and donations help the Janice Holt and Henry Giles Society preserve the historic property and continue sharing the story of two writers whose work carried a piece of rural Kentucky to readers around the world. Janice Holt Giles and her husband, Henry, created their home between 1945 and 1949 from logs salvaged from four pioneer-era structures dating from roughly 1800 to 1850. CFR: Firefighters responded to smoke conditions at TRH From Chris Taylor, Chief Executive Director Fire-Rescue-EMS, Campbellsville Fire-Rescue Campbellsville Fire Rescue was dispatched to a report of a working fire with the MRI machine at Taylor Regional Hospital on Old Lebanon Road in Campbellsville early Sunday morning. Upon arrival firefighters found no fire conditions but mild smoke conditions isolated to the MRI electrical room. Firefighters used thermal imaging devices to find an overheated MRI chiller motor that had overheated with no exposure to the facility. This was related to intermittent power issues related to ongoing storm conditions. Once the issue was isolated, crews ventilated the structure with positive pressure ventilation. No civilian or firefighter's injuries were reported. No hospital evacuations had to occur and situation was mitigated quickly. MRI fires can be particularly dangerous situation, but thankfully TRH and CFD train annually on MRI emergencies just for this situation!
