Football: Indians face McCreary Central on Friday

By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer

The Adair County Indians are back in action on Friday as they travel to take on the McCreary Central Raiders (1-1). The Indians come off an impressive 55-14 win over the Casey County Rebels on the road to get to 1-2 on the season.

The Raiders defeated the Clinton County Bulldogs 34-20 at home last week. In that game, McCreary Central rushed for 295 yards and passed for 0 yards while giving up 51 rushing yards and 208 passings yards. The Raiders fell in their season opener to Scott out of Huntsville, Tennessee, 14-15 on the road, mustering just 197 yards of total offense on the night, 130 on the ground and 67 through the air. In that game, the leading rusher was Freshman Treyven Calhoun, with 14 rushes for 45 yards, followed by fellow Freshman Darius Ridener, with six carries for 37 yards. Ridener also had a kickoff return for a tochdown. The leading tackler for McCreary Central in that game was Senior Tristan West, with 11. He was also the only player to attempt a pass for the Raiders on the night, going three for six for 67 yards and an interception. West also had the lone rushing touchdown for the team on the game.

The Indians will look to build a winning streak with a win over the Raiders, and if you are not in Owensboro cheering on the Lady Indians, make the trip down to Stearns for the Indians and Raiders matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30pmCT on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Norm Parsons Football/Soccer Field, 400 Raider Way, Stearns, KY. Tickets are $6, and can be purchased online at gofan.co/event/3671289.
