Shaker Village travel photos by Robert Ellis Contributing photographer Robert Ellis made a trip to Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill, just outside Harrodsburg, KY, in late June 2025, and we've posted a number of photos from that trip. This article will offer a way to see them all in one place. Robert writes about the trip, "Originally I travelled to Shaker Village on Friday, June 13, 2025, (the Vintage Dad's Day event was scheduled for Saturday) thinking I could get ahead of the rain in the forecast for Saturday. I surmised the antiques would be setup on Friday for the Saturday festival. I was wrong...so I spent Friday focusing on photographing the numerous buildings of the village grounds. Checking the forecast Saturday morning, I saw that the rain would hold off until later in the day, so off again to Shakertown!" GED mobile testing coming to area From Jill Midkiff Frankfort, KY - On July 9, 2025, Gov. Andy Beshear announced Team Kentucky is taking GED testing on the road, traveling to 25 areas in the state lacking access to brick-and-mortar buildings with in-person adult education services. Local counties where the mobile unit will travel include Adair, Green, Metcalfe, and Taylor. "As an education-first administration, we believe that access to education - from pre-K to postsecondary and beyond--is the key to a brighter future for all Kentuckians," said Gov. Beshear. "Early in my first term, we made GED testing free, and this new traveling unit is our latest effort to remove barriers to educational access. Thanks to the extraordinary work of our local providers, we are taking testing directly to Kentuckians in need, improving people's lives and enhancing their future employment opportunities."
