At final commencement weekend before transformation to university, Lindsey Wilson awards 890 degrees; Class of 2024-25 a record 1,733 graduates.

From Duane Bonifer

Graduates at the final commencement weekend held by Lindsey Wilson College were reminded of the importance of community support during wartime and the transformative power of higher education.

Combined with 843 degrees awarded at last December's winter commencement, the Lindsey Wilson Class of 2024-25 is a record 1,733 graduates.

Storm Alert Center reporting and classes

Daniel Wilson of Russell Springs has been reporting on Mother Nature's weather for a number of years and he also regularly holds classes to help people learn how to avoid problems, and stay safe in bad times, and be aware of seasonal changes.

He shared on his Storm Alert Center Facebook page that this weekend's weather is all part of "blackberry winter". This is folklore in Kentucky and other states, but usually holds true that a cold period will come during these times. Redbud and dogwood are generally the first two mentioned from April until first part of May. Generally speaking, we should be frost free by the second week of May signaling a start of serious planting/gardening.
