They have played a pivotal role in creating the best atmosphere at John Burr Gymnasium as they supported both basketball teams since Meet The Indians. The dedication and passion Mr. Holmes, Mr. Pharis, Coach McQueary, Coach Booher, and Coach McGaha exude rubs off on their student-athletes and their performances prove it. The Band and Adair County High School Cheerleading squad learned new songs, cheered proud, played loud, and performed in many moments to create the best experience for fans at games. Jason Corbin, 48, Columbia, KY (1976-2025) Jason Corbin of Columbia died on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 10:25 P.M. at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 48 years old. The funeral service will be held at 6pmCT on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Pastor Ryan Boatright officiating. KELC Releases 2025 Unemployment Rate Report From Mike Clark/Kim Saylor Brannock Frankfort, KY - Kentucky's seasonally adjusted preliminary February 2025 unemployment rate was 5.3%, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYSTATS), an agency within the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet. The preliminary February 2025 jobless rate was unchanged from January 2025 and up 0.6 percentage points from one year ago. The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for February 2025 was 4.1%, which was up 0.1 percentage points from January 2025, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. State works to implement new 15-year-old Driver's Permit Law From Allen Blair/Sherry Bray Frankfort, KY - Now that a new state law, House Bill 15, has taken effect allowing 15-year-olds to earn their driver's permits, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is working quickly to implement this exciting change. The Transportation Cabinet is making system upgrades so a credential can be issued allowing eligible applicants to take the written permit test. As early as April 2, applicants can start making an appointment with the Kentucky State Police. For individuals who have made an appointment prior to that date, please reschedule with Kentucky State Police to prevent delays.

Danny Tucker, 80, Russell County, KY Danny Tucker, of Russell Springs, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Jewish Hospital, in Louisville. He was 80 years of age. Born February 16, 1945, in Casey County, he was a son of the late R.V. and Rebecca Luttrell Tucker. Danny worked for over 30 years as a mechanic at People's Tobacco Warehouse in Somerset. He also enjoyed working on cars out of his own garage at home. Danny formerly attended the old Fountain Run Church. He was also one of the primary caretakers for Holt-Tucker Ridge Cemetery for many years.
