Basketball: Indians heading back to Sweet 16 By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer Historic. It has been some 70 years since the Adair County Indians basketball team has played in back-to-back state tournaments. Yet this year, that streak has died, as the Tribe will return to Rupp for the second straight season. Head Coach Deron Breeze had this to say about that accomplishment, "This group won back to back regions, first time in 70 years and it will be hard to achieve again but also a goal for the next few generations to strive to accomplish." This season's Adair County team has already surpassed the win total laid down by last year's squad, and will seek to continue to add onto that record as they face Bowling Green (28-6) at 10amCT on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in the first round of the UK HealthCare Boys Basketball Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena in Lexington.
