Scams getting more sophisticated every day

As technology advances, so do the tactics used by scammers. Artificial intelligence (AI) is shifting the way fraudsters deceive consumers, creating scams that are more convincing than ever.

Kentucky's Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) will be offering community events spotlighting how scammers are leveraging AI to clone voices, create deepfake videos and craft sophisticated phishing schemes designed to steal personal and financial information. Carol Perkins: On the Road Again

Previous Column: Trying to leave

By Carol Perkins

Six ladies flew from Louisville, went on a cruise out of Port Canaveral, and returned to the Orlando airport eight days later for a flight home.

We arrived early only to learn our 2 PM flight had been delayed two hours. We groaned, but what could we do? Some read, some slept sitting up, and some talked to fellow sufferers.

A later update announced another two-hour flight delay. I had been in this situation before and feared the worst. The worst happened.

The airline canceled our flight.

Thanks from Coach Breeze

By Coach Deron Breeze
ACHS Head Boys' Basketball Coach

Adair County fans, community, and family...thank you again for your support at the 5th Region tournament. I am so honored to lead a team and community with such passion and fight. Once again, this championship is yours. We do it for you!

Some other area schools did their best to self-anoint themselves as the new champion of the 5th region. In the end, three things stood true. We are the champs of this region, and the road to Rupp in the 5th Region runs through Cane Valley, Knifley, Casey Creek, Coburg, Breeding, Columbia and all of Adair County. Lastly, you better be careful when you mess around and pick a fight with an Indian!

See you at Rupp and ROLL TRIBE!
