XC: LWC men finish 4th at Ray Bullock Invitational

Upland, IN - The Lindsey Wilson men's cross country team competed at the Taylor University Ray Bullock Invitational on Friday, October 11, 2024, taking fourth place in the 8K event.

The Blue Raiders finished with a team score of 170 and a total time of 2:17:46.9. Host Taylor (IN) took home the team title with 23 points while Grace (IN) finished runner-up with 65.

Lindsey Wilson had two runners finish in the top 25. Senior Justin Stearns of Jamestown finished 13th with a time of 26:15.3 and an average mile of 5:17. Sophomore Santiago Nunez finished 22nd with a time of 26:42.1 and an average mile of 5.22.

Always the biggest crowd draw is the Saturday night concert closing out Downtown Days. This view from the Courthouse Annex shows the Public Square filled with folks enjoying the music.

Upcoming 4-H meetings

County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development

  • Cloverbuds Meeting/Pumpkin Decorating
    The 4-H Cloverbuds will meet at 5:30pmCT on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Adair County Extension Office. Cloverbuds is for youth ages 8 and under. This is the first meeting of the new program year. We will be having a pumpkin decorating program. New members are welcome to attend.

  • 4-H Rabbit/Poultry Club Meeting
    The 4-H Rabbit/Poultry Club will meet at 5:30pmCT on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Adair County Extension Office. This club is for learning about how to raise, care, and show rabbits and poultry. Open to youth ages 9-18 years old and Cloverbuds ages 8 and under. New members are welcome to attend.

  • Canceled: 4-H Dog Club Meeting
    The 4-H Dog Club will meet at 6:30pmCT on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Extension Office. This club is for learning about how to raise, care for, and show dogs. Open to youth ages 9-18 years old and Cloverbuds ages 8 and under. New members are welcome to attend.

  • New 4-H Home School Observation Station Science Club Meeting
    We will be having a 4-H Homeschool Observation Station Science Club kickoff meeting at 5:30pmCT on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Extension Office! All homeschooled youth are welcome to attend.
The Adair County Extension Office is located at 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY.

Little League deadline is Oct 17

Daniel Hedges sends a reminder that Thursday, October 17, 2024, is the deadline for Little League basketball signups, with no exceptions!

Forms for Little League basketball and cheerleading can be picked up at ACPC, ACES, and Downey Eye Clinic. All forms need to be returned to Downey Eye Clinic by 5pmCT on Thursday, with cash or check.

Coach Hedges says, "I will call for coaches meetings, etc., the following week."
