Columbian killed in Miami County, OH accident Friday A Columbia man was reported to have died in a crash on I-75 in Miami County, Ohio Friday afternoon. Fred Bohman, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol. His pick-up truck was traveling north on I-75 when the it veered off the right side of the road hitting a traffic sign and fence. Brenda Sapp, 82, Taylor County, KY (1941-2023) Brenda Sue Sapp of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Clarence Warner and Geneva Cox Warner, was born April 30, 1941 in Taylor County, Kentucky and died Friday, December 15, 2023 in Campbellsville at age 82. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and decorating and collecting roosters. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She loved her church and all of her church family. She was a retired co-owner and operator with her husband, Clem, of Sapp's Fruit Market. She was also an employee of Kroger and loved her Kroger family. Carol Perkins: Christmas Tales Previous Column: The Visit By Carol Perkins When we visited Carla last Sunday for JC's Band Christmas Concert, his brother Clint (home from the Army), his sister Dayna and her baby from Huntsville, and his other grandmother, Nancy from Brentwood, sat in the living room with Carla's family, and Guy and me and shared Christmas memories. Dayna vowed that Clint would not allow her to decorate the tree because she had no order to her design. "I couldn't even put a candle in the window," she said. Clint argued that was not true, although he agreed she was messy. Their story reminded me of how Henry and I threw icicles on our real tree and half landed on the floor. Russell Springs gets road improvement contract The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announces the awarding of a contract for safety improvements on U.S. 127 and KY 619 in Russell Springs. KYTC initiated the competitive intersection project through the Highway Safety Improvement Program to boost safety and traffic flow at eight intersections within the project limits. Dale Coe, 85, Russell County, KY (1938-2023) Lewis Dale Coe, 85, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at his home. Dale was a man of few words, but always meant what he said. He loved his family, friends, golf, fishing, UK basketball and sitting on the porch. He was one of the original "Shade Tree Gang" at Lakewood Country Club, and the golf course was one of his most favorite places to be, as well as the porch. He welcomed visitors, as long as before his early bedtime.
