Raymond Jeffrey Vest, 60, Casey County, KY native Raymond Jeffrey Vest, of Junction City, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was 60. The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT/2pmET on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Maupin and Bro. Dwight Hatter officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Hatter, Dwight Hatter, Adam Cain, Brian Vest, Chad Davenport, Robert Heselton and Kyle Zachary. Honorary pallbearers will be Sara Davenport, Roger Brown, Danny Brown, and all his first cousins. Letter: Waiting to see Santa Claus James Roberts writes: Linda, this picture would have been taken in December 1956. The movie that's showing at the Columbian Theater in the background was released in June 1956. It being a "B" movie at the time would have taken a few months to have made it to Columbia for viewing. CPD: Injury accident on parkway By Officer Adam Cravens, PIO Columbia Police Department Columbia Police Department officers responded to a single vehicle wreck with injury on the Louis B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway on Friday evening, December 27, 2019. The accident occurred when Trevor Smith, 46, of Russell Springs, was operating a 1994 Toyota truck. Smith was entering the parkway in the eastbound lane when he lost control, left the roadway, hit a rock wall, and overturned. Smith was transported by Adair County EMS to TJ Health Columbia for treatment. Officer Drew Conn investigated the accident.
