Letter: My experience with vaping

Joyce Coomer writes:

My experience with vaping or the use of e-cigarettes, whatever it is called this week . . .

While I don't smoke, have never smoked, and consider it a rather useless habit, I tolerate others' smoking habits unless the smoke is bothering my lungs. (I have had asthma and several allergies all my life.)

Two or three years ago, one of our customers came in and was smoking an e-cigarette. She asked if I minded and I told her to go ahead. We talked for an hour or so and I didn't have any noticeable effects other than a mild dislike for the smell of the fumes.

Sen. Max Wise's Legislative Update: Fall is upon us

Personal political commentary/opinions of the writer

By State Senator Max Wise, (R-Campbellsville)
16th District: Adair, Clinton, Cumberland, McCreary, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne Counties

Fall is officially upon us, which means the end of the interim is quickly approaching. It is hard to believe that in less than 100 days, the General Assembly will convene at the Capitol for the 2020 Regular Session.

The General Assembly is utilizing this time away from Frankfort to reflect on current structures and better determine which issues should be focused on primarily here in the upcoming session. Several preliminary policy discussions are already underway for 2020, including new measures on education, public safety, economic development, and transportation.
