Letter: Question about Reverend Dixon

Martha Berry writes:
Could the Rev. Dixon be Rev. Ernest L. Dixon, a Methodist Minister. I don't know what connection he would have with Old Concord but I remember that he served some Churches in the Columbia area. This would be sometime in the early to mid 40s is my guess. --Martha

Eagle populations are growing rapidly across Kentucky

By Sarah Ladd, Louisville Courier Journal

When Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentucky in Louisville got its first eagle around 1995, such a thing was "exciting and unheard of." The eagle was on his first migration, having been tagged in Michigan, and was shot in Eastern Kentucky. A wing frozen into place would keep him from ever flying again.

It was five years before the educational and rehabilitation organization got another eagle. Now, Raptor Rehab founder and Executive Director Eileen Wicker said it's not uncommon to have five eagles come through the center in a year.
