The more I read, the less I seem to know, or at least remember. Someone once told me, and I have adopted the line, "I try to learn new things each day, but some old things seem to be pushed off the back side of my memory shelf." We are told that no thing is forgotten, just not as easily accessed as more and more is processed. An anecdote told of Albert Einstein says he was once asked for his address and his reply was that he didn't know. Why?, he was asked. His reply, that he saw no reason to try to remember such trivial information; if he needed to know, he'd ask someone.

Kentucky Color: Jar Fly out of season in Taylor Co., KY

2014-10-07 - Campbellsville, KYI - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge.
This Jar Fly
in spite of his, or her, impressive looking eyes surely misread the calendar. Jar Flies usually show up during Dog Days (circa middle of July to the middle of August) of Summer but this one seemed to be grounded in the Taylor County Bank parking lot by 50 degree temperatures and a cold rain in early October. Even though some cicadas can raise and lower their body temperatures, this one wasn't puttin' off any heat. Billy Joe Fudge Paired photo, same Jar Fly different angle - Kentucky Color: Jarfly

Taft Neal comments on city's new payroll tax

Commentary

Thank the city council for proving that they are not capable of holding their office and passing the mishandling of funds and overspending on to this struggling community. I'm sure they struggled with the decision and are remorseful for the food they are taking out of hardworking people's kitchens. - Taft Neal
