Attorney General Jack Conway and his Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control Unit today announced the indictment and arraignment of a former pain management doctor on Medicaid fraud and theft charges. On August 8, a Clay County grand jury indicted Dr. Craig Leicht, 60, on one count of Medicaid fraud and one count of theft by deception over $10,000. Dr. Leicht pleaded not guilty during his arraignment hearing this morning in Clay Circuit Court.

LWC Football moves up to No. 20 in latest NAIA Top 25 Poll

She was a member of a highly regarded Metcalfe County, KY, family. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Bartley and Imogene Whitelow Johnston, who survives. Her husband, Tommy Nunnally, survives. Silent City will be Monday, October 27, 2014

This year's "Silent City," will start at 5pmCT, Monday, October 27, 2014, starting from the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, (Google Map) followed by a walk to the Columbia City Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, (Google Map), Columbia, KY, for presentations and a return to the Library or followup discussions and refreshments. The production is sponsored by the Adair County Genealogical Society and the Adair County Public Library. The production is held annually on the last Monday in October.

Wet-Dry petition validation likely to take at least one more week

Counting continues: State Law allows up to 30 days from September 29, 2014 turn in, but Adair County Clerk's office may be able to announce the outcome as early as Monday, October 13, 2014

Joyce Rodgers, Adair County Court Clerk, contact at her office in the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY, at 8amCT, said the validation of the signatures on the Wet-Dry Petition is likely to take at least one more week, and thinks a county may be complete by Monday, October 13, 2014. The petition was turned in September 29, 2014 by the organizer, Paul Carter. Clerk Rodgers says that her office can take up to 30 days to complete the count, but the staff will make every effort to have the outcome known as quickly as possible.

CJE Eddie Rogers, back home & fine, raring to go back to work

'I didn't even know I was having a heart attack,' popular Taylor County CJE said after returning to Campbellsville, following what he thought was just a case of indigestion. But it necessitated a trip to TRH, a flight to Norton's, and stint operation. COLUMBIA, KY. (26 Oct 2014) - A total of 34 future nurses took a big step Sunday afternoon, at Lindsey Wilson College.

The 34 LWC students participated in the college's fifth-annual Nursing Ceremony of Blessing & Transition, held in V.P. Henry Auditorium. The ceremony prepared the students - sophomores who are in their first year of LWC's bachelor of science nursing program - to symbolically enter their profession.

Lindsey Wilson College provides Sunday Brunch for Governor's Autumn Bike Ride Across Kentucky, which helps raise funds for the Grand Theatre in Frankfort and for Walk/Bike Frankfort. The group was assisted in Adair County by members of the Columbia Rotary Club, including Gerald and Natasha Holt, both of Columbia.

COLUMBIA, KY - A total of 15 cyclists from around the country rode through Columbia-Adair County on Sunday. The cyclists were part of the 11th-annual Governor's Autumn Bike Ride Across Kentucky. The four-day, 250-mile ride began Thursday, October 2, 2014, at General Butler State Park and concluded Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Dale Hollow State Park. A total of 27 cyclists from a dozen states began the ride.

On Sunday morning, the remaining GABRAKY cyclists stopped for brunch at the Lindsey Wilson Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center and then toured the E. Fay Jones-designed John B. Begley Chapel. The group was assisted in Adair County by members of the Columbia Rotary Club, including Gerald and Natasha Holt, both of Columbia.

Lindsey Wilson is one of the ride's sponsors, and LWC Dean of Student Chris Schmidt helped organize the event, which raises money for the Grand Theatre of Frankfort and WalkBike Frankfort, a group that helps build bicycle-pedestrian paths in the capital city.
