Columbia Magazine gets comments and letters regularly about the old Russell/Lerman's building on the corner of the Public Square and Jamestown Streets in Columbia which has been vacant for years. William Hill is the most recent to ask, "Is it true or false that the Lerman's building is to be torn down?" We know there has been speculation in the last few weeks while the courthouse renovation has been under study questioning whether the back side (Reed Street corner) is in too poor shape to be saved, however, nothing final has been released. We will be digging for details and post news as soon as concrete developments happen.
