Postcards from LWC: Sanjay Mahila

2022-02-16 - Columbia, KY - Photo courtesy Sanjay Mahila.
By Dakota Smith

Meet Sanjay Mahila from Hyderabad, India. He chose to come to Lindsey because it is affordable and in his opinion, the best institution! The most interesting place he has been in the U.S. so far has been Lindsey Wilson College AP. White Campus because it is the first place he ever saw snow!

For Sanjay, the hardest adjustment to living in the U.S. was the cold weather. He says, "living in the Midwest is just too cold to adjust to." Something he wants to share about his country is he is from the southern part of India where they celebrate festivals and enjoy lots of food and cultural events like Diwali, which is known for lights, fireworks, delicious sweets; Sankranthi, which is known as "kite festival;" Ganesh festival where they have lord Ganesh on all the streets across India and offer prayers for 11 days with lots of love and joy. He says, "We respect all religions and enjoy all the festivals." Welcome to LWC, Sanjay!
