Postcards from LWC: Saira Mushtaq

2022-02-07 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Saira Mushtaq.
By Dakota Smith

Hello everyone! Meet Saira Mushtaq from Karachi, Pakistan. Saira chose Lindsey Wilson College because of our motto, "Every Student, Every Day," and she feels this speaks for itself. Her favorite place that she has visited since she arrived in the U.S. only a few weeks ago was Multnomah Falls, Oregon. "It was the most beautiful sight I had seen in the U.S."

The hardest adjustment she had to make living in America was the food because, in her country, people use extra spices that make the food more flavorful. She shared that "Karachi has the spiciest yet the most delicious food in the whole country. Nothing can beat my country's food! There is so much variety, and the spice level is the best!" She says that "unless tears roll down our eyes due to the spice, it's no fun!" Please welcome Saira!
