School Board holds 'new style' meeting, 17 Mar 2020

2020-03-19 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
For a monthly Adair County School Board meeting, there are normally more vehicles outside and people in attendance. The March 2020 meeting Tuesday night was light of traffic because only ten people were allowed in the board room to comply with Gov. Beshear's calls to help curb the spread of COVID-19. The meeting was also shown live on YouTube under Adair County Schools. Academic Dean Phyllis Curry was granted authority by the board to enter into the NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) program which allows school to remain in session under the new methods of communication without gathering in classrooms. Prior to the inception of NTI, Kentucky school districts lost many days of school due to bad weather. Adair County Public Schools are in session only online now through April 10, 2020. Instructional packets for school-at-home are being distributed today and tomorrow, Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2020.
