Rumor of closing was false, but hours will change

Friday afternoon a rumor was racing around social media that the Columbia Walmart was closing. Checking with a staff member proved that untrue at the moment, all three shifts were ongoing, however as of this morning, Sunday, March 15, 2020, the corporation has announced reduced shifts to allow for restocking. New schedule calls for closing from 11pm-6amCT. The parking lot was filled Saturday as if people were buying in preparation for a huge blizzard to come. In a recent update from Governor Andy Beshear, he advised people to be good neighbors and share if they are overbuying in the face of the COVID-19 virus.
