Ed Darnell asks for help for special Veterans event 2020-03-01 - Columbia - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Ed Darnell spoke to members of the Adair Fiscal Court at its last meeting asking for donations to help with a June 6, 2020 event he and his wife are organizing. He said there will be music and free foods in the Rod Bailey Memorial Motorcycle Ride with possibly up to 200 motorcycles at the event honoring military and first responders at City Park on Fairgrounds Street, Columbia. The budget is set and reportedly very tight, however, the court decided to see if there might be a few hundred dollars to help. Magistrate Daryl Flatt pointed out that while all general fund monies are allocated, the County is not broke. He encouraged a donation of $500 from the LGEA fund since this is a free event for all citizens and will be honoring Veterans. The possibility will be researched by Treasurer Melinda Quinn and placed on the agenda for the first next meeting Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 6pm in the Courthouse Annex. Permalink | Comments?
