Reflections in the Little Barren

After you sip a drink of sulphur water from the artesian well flowing at the Sulphur Well Park, Metcalfe County, KY, you may look across the Little Barren River and see these trees artfully arranged on the edge of the water, making interesting reflections. If you have never sipped from this well it should be on your weekend list of things to do. In days gone by, the water was believed to have healing powers. Some of us natives still do.

Here's a poem for a smile, written in days gone by the hermit of Sulphur Well, Walter Matthew Scroggy, known by all as "Uncle Matt". It was printed in the CM print issues before it became a 24/7/365 internet magazine. - LW
