Mama Cat hiding among the Poke plants

Mama Cat was hunting discretely as she hid among the volunteer Poke plants growing rapidly out back. For those who like greens, the young plant Poke leaves make a good spring choice. No matter whether it's needed or not, I still boil mine and pour off the water, add new water and reboil - twice. The roots, stems and berries of the plant are said to be poisonous.
