Health Department educates public on dangers of JUULing

Health Department Educator Jelaine Harlow, center, introduced a new educational banner at Thursday's WATCH (Working Actively Toward Community Health) meeting, discussing places the information might be most effective in the schools. The subject of the banner is JUULing and the danger it presents to young people - each JUUL cartridge has as much nicotine as a pack of cigarettes. It is the latest generation of e-cigarettes targeted at students. Jennifer Wilson, left, and Janet Cowherd, at right, represent Well Care and Diabetes Education. Reports were heard from each area represented in the meeting from the different agencies coming together to focus on the health of citizens. WATCH meets each second Thursday of the month at the Adair County Health Department.
