Hilda Legg featured speaker at Cville TC Chamber lunch meeting

Hilda Legg, Kentucky State Director of the USDA Rural Development, spoke at the February 14, 2019 lunch meeting of the Campbellsville-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce held at the Taylor County Extension office.

She announced that Rural Development has approved more than $14 million in recent years in various grant and loan funds in Taylor County for water system improvements, business assistance, and housing funding. She summarized several of the grant and loan programs that are available from Rural Development for a variety of community improvement type projects as well as individual housing loans.

Legg spoke of the importance of access to high speed broadband for rural areas to compete in today's economy. The continuing problems of opioid addiction and overdose deaths is a point of concern for Rural Development.
