CAUD sewer connection for Dollar General Store gets go ahead

Lenny Stone, General Manager of Columbia/Adair Utilities District, reported to the CAUD board of commissioners meeting Thursday, May 10, 2018, that all the paperwork with the KY Transportation Cabinet has been completed and signed allowing construction of a sewer connection for the construction of a new Dollar General Store on the lot behind the vehicle in this photo. The KYTC is requiring a directional bore, connecting at a manhole barely visible left in the photo from the car. The property owners, Joe Pyles & Anthony Janes, will pay for the connection, Mr. Stone said. The lot is on the one time farm which was the picturesque home of a warmly remembered and beloved teacher, Miss Beulah Bennett. - EW
