A Timeless Publication, a timeless good idea: IJFASN - or Smiles 2018-05-08 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Just picked up my copy of "It's Just for a Smile News," and saw story which generated so much talk around town. It's an engineering idea we wish the powers-that-be would consider. The editor, my favorite little brother, has come up with many road ideas which would solve a lot of problems effectively, and on the cheap. One of my favorites was the Oak Street-behind-the-fairgrounds-Green Hills Road bypass, which would have alleviated a major design flaw in the state's plans. Perhaps he and Joe Lynn Barbee and Junior Stotts ought to be made the unofficial consultants for future projects. Joe Lynn designed a Columbia to Bryan to Burkesville shortcut which was brilliant. Junior Stotts can analyze traffic flow and solve problems the bureaucracies just can't seem to get their heads around. But I digress. When I finally got my copy of 'Smiles' it was only later that I noticed the date - and realized that that just doesn't seem to matter. There's a timeless quality about the issues which make them compelling to read - regardless of the date. - EW. Permalink | Comments?
