The rising plume of steam over one of Adair County's most stable employers, Northeastern Products - NEPCO - which has held steady over several decades since coming to Adair County during the administration of CJE Richard Walker was a pleasant food cue to get some coffee. Some of the stores on the way back to town had no coffee because of the county-wide boil water advisory, but two of the restaurants listed on What's Cooking, Betty's and Patty's, both had boiled water and kept the coffee flowing. - EW
