Abby Calhoun speaking out to help fight human trafficking

Abby Calhoun, Lindsey Wilson College student, reminded Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce meeting attendees today that it takes everyone to help in the fight against human trafficking. She has the statistics and is part of the effort on campus speaking out and working to help stamp out the underground business of child-stealing/selling. Recent government statistics show human trafficking to be a $32 billion-a-year industry, on the rise, in all 50 states. She said it's hard to think about human trafficking in a small town like ours, however, Columbia Police Department officials confirm it is happening right here.
