Friday, April 6, 2018, at Halcomb Landing Boat Ramp was like a cold snap on a spring vacation on the coast. It was cold - seemed like 30 degrees F. colder than on the leeward side of the hills, that is compared to shirtsleeve weather of Ky 558, Rowena Road, visited later. But the elaborate boat ramp is as much a park as it is a place to launch lake craft, a day trip destination especially for hometowners in Jamestown and Adair, Clinton, and Cumberland Counties, well worth packing a picnic and sitting a spell at the comfortable benches and picnic just down the walk from this spot. The view here is just above the dam, toward the Clinton-Russell County line. - EW
