Lost in Casey County, KY - the route took us along a delightful, worth-the-trip-in-itself Gum Lick Creek Road. Near it's intersection with Abner Hill Road, we discovered that phlox was in bloom. It was the first we'd discovered in 2018. Linda likes to call it "Sweet William," the term she remembers from her family, though Wildflower purists may argue that. This year, we're counting it as the first we've seen. It's a recommended visit, if you can find it. Fortunately, using inherent male never fail guidance, we found our way back to KY 70 with two lefts. And fortunately the last of a deli at the "Y" in Creston, nutritional needs were met with the last of a super sandwich made there. - EW Permalink | Comments?
