Grape Hyacinths seen on Burkesville Street walk

A walk from the Square to Five Star along the path of the Burkesville Street Phase of CAUD's Downtown Water Project in late winter, March 15, 2018, has much more than Daffodils and Forsythia, and grand-delions - beautiful as they are - but many more usually early spring flowers, like these Grape Hyacinths just beyond the Coffey Cave. Their dark blue green grass is very much like that of Star of Bethlehem, a beautiful but unwanted ground cover. In addition Red Bud is already peeking out along the way, with a much anticipated redbud beauty coming on at the intersection of Tutt Street and Burkesville Street. - EW
