Birds of KY: Married Red-tailed Hawks? Planning dinner date?

These monogamous raptors, social exemplaries for family values, were out hunting in a distant tree from our vantage point on Greensburg Road. Ironically, they were spotted just two days after Steve Coomer, who lives less than a mile back toward town, explained their range as being within one square mile of their nest. Assuming our guess on the species and relationship is correct, that's surely a providential coincidence. The birds make a grand sight, above, hunting for their dinner. However, veteran and knowledgeable ornithologist know that red tailed hawks are the likely suspects when one sees a hawk. - EW/LW.
