It's a bit hard to realize that the wonderful community park was founded by the late Father George K. Bowling over 45 years ago. This marker near the entrance to the park is a tribute to his memory. Father Bowling was instrumental in creating a park at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Columbia, and in other communities, a lasting legacy in these towns. But in Edmonton, he fell in love with the community and the community with him and out of that a great, unifying facility was born which continues to serve not only Metcalfe County, but serves as a gathering place for surrounding counties as well.
