Fearless crossing Lindsey Wilson Street, this lone lowly worm was one of not so many of it's ilk, making the trek. Everyone has wondered and theorized - I know I have - why earthworms are drawn to warm concrete and pavement after a rain. According to the article, www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/why-do-earthworms-surface-after-a-rain it's absolutely not because they will drown. The article discusses the urge to mate, to migrate, to avoid moles (but not greater threat of robins), a phenomenon known as swarming, and more. And if one wants to know about their parapoda locomotion and their OEM parts, that's in a Wikipedia article, Wiki/Annelid. For those who have OD'ed on Bizarre Foods and see these fishing worms as food, there are pro's and con's, encouragement and warnings, about earthworm consumption, raw or cooked, with the main concurrence being that the worms taste earthy. - EW
