Sign ready to come down -- Tourism can help but can't lead

The land owner has contributed information on the background and the story on this sign is coming together. The family allowed the sign to be posted across Greensburg Road from the Christian Life Center/Jim Blair Park two or three generations ago and thinks it was possibly updated the last time by the Adair County Homemakers -- one of the late family members participated in it. As far as we can tell from reader contributions to date, those who worked to erect the sign have passed on, or are unable to be involved in any further changes. It was stated when the first photo was published here that the Tourism Commission could take care of getting it down, but that has now been clarified, Tourism may help, but can't take the lead. The next step is to ask if the City and County could work together and remove it when the winter gets done with itself. Once it has been removed, plans can be made for a new sign to match those coming into town on other streets (Russell Road, Burkesville Road, Campbellsville Road.) -- Linda Waggener
