Winter 2017 arrived today but heavy rain, not snow, is in the forecast

2017-12-21 - Southern Adair County, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Today, Thursday, Dec. 21, is the first day of the official 2017 winter season, however rain is predicted, not snow as in this photo of the first snow of the season. The light dusting of snow in this picture was taken at the corner of Toria Road where it meets Blue Ridge Circle. The rain in today's forecast is predicted to be heavy and with swinging up and down, drivers are advised to watch for ponding and also for black ice. -- LW
