2017 Christmas in Columbia: Art Scene at Columbian Theatre 2017-12-02 - Columbian Theatre Walk off Public Square - Photo photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Barry & Mary Ann Loy had just begun transforming the Columbian Theatre into a storefront art gallery when this photo was taken. It can be viewed in more complete manner this Saturday Morning, December 2, 2017 by Christmas in Columbia early arrivals as they take a shortcut via the Theatre Walk, by Moore's Lunchroom on their way to the Christmas Arts & Crafts event in the Historic Adair County Courthouse. The Loys worked with Columbian owner Ben Arnold to display the gallery, and with the living embodiment of the theatre, Yvonne Marshall, to bring the gallery to life. Both were inspired by tie between Christmas and the very young, remembering that Yvonne Marshall's late husband Charles Marshall was eternally youthful in his outlook. This panel of art is from Mrs. Collins' second grade class at Adair County Primary Center.
