There's only a hint of fall color here, just before the turn off on the right to go into the Central Business District of The Flatwoods. But, up above, on the plateau, the colors of October make a Sunday trip to monitor the fall foliage well worth while. Around the bend into the Neat woods on both sides of KY 61 the roadsides are gorgeous with yellows and reds, oranges, still dark leaves and black green evergreens, sights of one pumping oil well, and critters, lots of hawks, deer, and every few years, a more and more common black bear. - EW Permalink | Comments?
