Both roads 'rise to meet you', to adapt a blessing in the Old Irish Prayer Congressman Tim Lee Carter delighted audiences by quoting years ago, which applies to the junction of two of south Adair County's most delightful roads - especially in the fall. Straight ahead is Independent Ridge Road, offering stunning vistas, loved-to-life homes and estates - the road to Picnic and Dirigo. To the right, Greenbriar Ridge, offering stunning vistas, loved-to-life homes and estates - the road to Chance, KY (unless Gibson Road's seductive pull draws a traveler into Cumberland County). And here the road not taken makes only the slightest difference. It's just saved for another glorious day in paradise, enjoying the gentle grandeur of South Central Kentucky. We'll remember this day, Sat 23 Sep 2017, but we'll surely go back there one day. - EW/LW.
