Senior Lindsey Wilson College employee (44 years on the job), Garry Coomer, was overseeing work in the new Columbia VFW Post 6097. The 5,000 s.f. facility lacks only a few minor interior touches before it is handed over the to VFW Commander Joe Hare and Post 6097, well before the first of August, LWC Plant Operations Manager Mike Newton predicts. The exterior needs only paving, the re-installation of the monument coming from the Lindsey Wilson/Fairgrounds property and a few other punchlist items. Mr. Coomer said he is well pleased with this latest project, which has been completed almost solely by Plant Operations, which, by the way, is by itself one of Columbia's biggest employers, with over 70 people in the department.
