A BBQ pork shoulder plate at Breeding Country Mart is powerfully good, spicy enough to bring tears of endorphic joy when ordered "hot" as with the plate above. That's two perfectly thick slices of shoulder, enough that many will want to start the meal with a take home box for their next meal or two. The vinegar slaw is an old family recipe, and could only taste better with the addition of the hot sauce, created from an old family recipe from a Dale Hollow lakeside BBQ restaurant. The potato salad serves as a side or as a dessert - it's that good.. The white or "light" bread as a fire extinguisher when a bite is just too potent for even experienced pepperheads. The drink, our reviewer says, is "Mexican Tea," and is served only six days a week. Never on Sunday. It's a rather curious approach to the adult "Tea," served over salted ice with some lemon juice (one has to carry in her/his own lime; that's not a regular house item.
