From a strategic position in front of the Joseph Schickel Veterans Memorial Park in Burkesville, the Alpine Hotel looks like art on top of the Cumberland County Courthouse. And why not? There are paintings of people in many of the upstairs windows around the square which look so real you want to stop and chat. - LW
