Green County teachers honored at CU for Excellence in Teaching

Green County School awards were presented at CU's Excellence in Teaching ceremony to Amy Shofner, Green County Primary School; Sandra Bell, Green County Middle School; and Laura Cash, Green County High School. From left in the picture are: Dr. Donna Hedgepath, vice president for academic affairs; Ben Davenport, principal, Green County Primary School; Amy Shofner, Green County Primary School; Sandra Bell, Green County Middle School; Philip West, principal, Green County Middle School; Laura Cash, Green County High School; Karen Marcum, principal, Green County High School; and Dr. Beverly Ennis, dean of the Campbellsville University School of Education. Shofner is a teacher at Green County Primary School where she has been working since 2002. She graduated from Green County High School in 1988. In 1992, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Lindsey Wilson College. In 1996, she achieved her MA in Education at Campbellsville University. Her parents are Glen Hancock of Greensburg and the late Mary Sue Hancock. She has two children, Baylee and Kinsy. Bell teaches sixth grade math at Green County Middle School, where she has worked since 1999. Bell graduated from Adair County High School in 1984. In 1989, she obtained her BA in Education from Lindsey Wilson College. She attended Western Kentucky University, where she obtained her MA and Rank 1 in 1992 in 1994. She is married to James Bell, and they have two children: Andrea Bell Stevenson and Bradley Bell. Her parents are Loretta and William (Billy) Grant from Glensfork, Ky. Cash teaches ninth integrated grade science at Green County High School, where she has been teaching since 2015, and also where she graduated in 2008. She obtained her BA in 2012 from Campbellsville University. In 2015, she obtained a MA from the University of the Cumberlands. She is married to Josh Cash; they have a daughter, Payton Elizabeth. She is the daughter of Randy and Debbie Murray of Columbia and Billy Bishop of Greensburg.
