KY 704 project completed by Stotts/Bowles team in record time II 2017-05-21 - KY 768 at KY 704, Adair County, KY. - Photo by Ed Waggener. Promontory Point, so to speak. The Hwy 704 water project is tied in but not turned on at the KY 704/KY 768 end of the line, and there were just a few pieces of equipment left along the line. Before water starts to flow as intended, the line needs only to be chlorinated, pressure tested and have samples tested before the system is utilized. A spokesperson for Stotts Construction Company, Inc, said Sunday that the company hopes to complete those tests Monday, May 22, 2017. The water will be tested at Fouser's Environmental Services lab at Coburg, KY. Dependent on those results the system could be online by as early as Wednesday, May 24, 2017. At that time, adequate pressure should be available for the growing area for a decade or more, if there are no significant existing leaks in the KY 704 portion of the line. Those would likely manifest themselves in an obvious manner in a very short period of time when the water flow and pressure along KY 704 is dramatically increased by the newly constructed Antioch-to-Piner's Place main. - EW.
