Family Fun in the Sun was a success early Saturday afternoon, May 20, 2017, before the storm clouds rolled in. The Martin family was one of first to enjoy the Story Walk, and receive one of the free books upon completion of the 25 stops around the half mile walk. The event was held to introduce new playground equipment and the newest Monarch Way Station in Adair County. The inflatables for kids, hot dogs and drinks were sponsored by the Columbia-Adair Parks and Recreation Board, Adair County WATCH Coalition, and the Adair County Public Library. -- JH
