Elementary School Art Club students paint, make flowers

2017-04-27 - Campbellsville Elementary School, 315 Roberts Road, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer, Campbellsville Independent Schools (CIS).
Campbellsville Elementary School third-grader Chyanne Christie holds her Vincent Van Gogh-inspired flower. CES students are having fun participating in the school's Art Club. CES art teacher Adrienne Hash sponsors the club, and invites students to join based on interest in art, an assessment they complete and their classroom performance. Art Club students meet with Hash once a week during the school day to learn about artists and art techniques. After they learn, the students spend time creating new artwork. They also make centerpieces for the school's leadership luncheons to honor students chosen as Leaders of the Month. Recently, students spent time painting with watercolors and making flowers out of construction paper based on Vincent Van Gogh's paintings of flowers. There are about 25 students involved with the Art Club. - Calen McKinney
