The scene before the first joint meeting of the Adair County School Board and the Adair County Superintendent Search Screening Committee, held last night, Tue 18 Apr 2017 included, in attendance, standing center, search coordinator Tim Eaton, Somerset, KY, of the Kentucky School Boards Association talking with School Board Members, from left, Mike Harris (Div 5), Daniel Adams (2), Lauren McQuaide, (ACHS Board Member); Board Chair and Superintendent Search Committee Chair Lisa Burton (3) and Vice Chair Terry Harvey (1), and clockwise around the table, search committee members Troy Young, representing administrators; Jason Rector, representing classified employees; Jeana Pike and Susan Peck representing certified employees. Board Member Jonathan Gaskins (4); and search committee member Aleisha Karnes, representing parent/minority constituency was not present. After a brief update from Tim Price, the board and media left the conference room for Mr. Price and the Search Committee to allow the first paper screen of the 21 applications received for the post by the 12 Apr 2017 application deadline. Statistical information: The list included 18 men and 3 women, 17 in-state and one each from Illinois and Texas; applications from four superintendents, eight central office personnel, six principals, 2 others, and one retired.
