Glorious Easter Season Dogwoods Blooming

The Dogwood Tree, symbolic of Easter, is coming into full bloom across south central Kentucky this holiday weekend. The legend Christians pass down says the tree was once mighty and strong until it was used for the cross on which Jesus was crucified. After that the tree would never be allowed to grow to the strength it could be used for that purpose and each blossom on the tree would have two long and two shorter petals, in the form of a cross. The color at the end of each petal is symbolic of the blood from each nail print, head, hands, feet.
